Skjaldborg Artisans was founded by two brothers, Jason and Joshua, as a small, family-oriented business built with a passion for Viking culture and inclusivity. We bring an interactive encampment to events along with handmade Viking round shields, clothing, leather and woodworking products. We also modify and customize various items and weapons. We like to bring almost anything you might hope to find at a Traveling Viking Trading Post. Whether you are a reenactor, LARPer, Cosplayer, or just curious about Vikings, all are welcome at Skjaldborg Artisans.

Our Viking Round Shields are fully-functional, battle-ready works of art that echo the valor and craftsmanship of ancient Norse warriors. We make our shields using real pine wood planks fastened together with handmade wrought iron nails. They have genuine rawhide edges that are secured with cut tacks. The handles are wrapped in genuine leather to offer optimal comfort and grip. The finish is applied in several coats of thinly layered paint to create a depth and beauty that gives an weathered, ancient look to these functional pieces of art. We also offer shield blanks, if you would like to customize your own.
