• Inspired by History: While we utilize contemporary techniques, we take immense pride in crafting shields that mirror the visual allure of Viking shields. We use real pine planks fastened together with hand-cut wrought iron nails to bring an authentic look and feel.
• Real Rawhide Edges: We use real rawhide the way real Vikings did to add both strength and aesthetic depth to each shield. We secure the rawhide in place with cut tack nails so that when the rawhide dries and shrinks, it pulls and holds the boards tightly together.
• Combat-Grade Shield Boss: Every shield boss, or Umbo, is hand-forged, taking cues from ancient designs. Crafted from resilient 14-gauge steel, they are not only visually compelling but also battle-ready.
• Leather-Wrapped Handle: Ensuring both comfort and a robust grip, our handles are wrapped in fine leather, readying you for any skirmish or display.
